BiographyLucille “Lucy” O. King, 93 of Albany passed away Sunday, December 5, 2010 at an Albany hospital.
Lucy was born to Bryan and Ollie (Hubbard) Bowles on November 29, 1917 in Muscotah, Kansas. She lived most of her adult life in Horton, Kansas and spent the last 24 years in Albany.
On February 28, 1937, Lucy was united in marriage to Ivan A. King in Holton, Kansas. He preceded her in death in 1986.
She was also preceded in death by her parents, daughter, Peggy Hill and daughter-in-law, Trudy King.
Lucy, a homemaker, was a devoted wife and mother and a beloved grandmother and great-grandmother. She was an avid golfer and was always the life of the party. There was rarely a moment throughout her life when this special lady wasn’t happy and making others smile with her contagious sense of humor. She was a member of the Albany United Methodist Church.
Survivors include her son, Larry (Darlene) King of Albany; Grandchildren, Kristy (Jeff) Parks, Kearney, MO; Jeff (Janis) King, Fairway, KS; Mike (Judy) Rapp, Broomfield, CO; Debbie (Ray) Ulibarri, Greeley, CO; Pam (Todd) Deschamps, Greeley, CO; Rick (Jo Beth) Hill, Broomfield, CO; Jodi (John) Manville, Albany; Shelly (Derek) Brown, Albany; sister, Janie (Jack) Reichart, Atchison, KS; son-in-law, Lowell Hill, Greeley, CO; 20 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
