Allen Duane "Slugger" Austin, 75, of Albany passed away Friday, August 7, 2009 at an Albany hospital. Slugger, the son of Beryl T. and Edith (Allenbrand) Austin was born November 7, 1933 in Darlington, Missouri. His parents preceded him in death. For many years he traveled to South Dakota for the annual blue grass stripping. He was a farmer and a truck driver. Slugger is survived by his family and many friends.
