Elsie Anne Sweat, 91, of Albany, passed away Tuesday, February 25, 2014, at the Excelsior Springs Mo, convalescent center. Anne was born February 17, 1923, in Stanberry Mo. She was the daughter of Clarence S. and Dora (Johnson) Dakan. On October 21, 1945, Anne was united in marriage to Gerald Sweat and they lived all of their married life in Albany, Mo. They enjoyed 64 years of marriage when Gerald preceded her in death on November 30, 2009. Shortly after his death, Anne moved to Excelsior Springs to be with her daughter and son-in-law. She was also preceded in death by her parents, sisters, Lois Prather, Maxine Workman and her brother, Clarence A. Dakan. Anne worked as a secretary in the probate office for Gentry County and also a typist for the local abstract company. Her last 45 years she spent as a homemaker who loved to sew, bake and garden. She was a member of the Albany First Christian Church and a member of the Albany Country Club. Survivors include her daughter Jeri Ann (Keith) Bowen, Excelsior Springs, Mo. Grandchildren, Casey (Brooke) McConkey and son Maxwell; Calan (Sarah) McConkey and Taylor Jennings, all of Excelsior Springs, Mo; four step grandchildren and six step great-grandsons. Funeral Services: 10:00 AM Saturday, March 1, at the Roberson-Polley Chapel, Albany, with burial in the Grandview Cemetery, Albany. The family will receive friends from 7:00 - 8:00 PM on Friday evening at the chapel, where friends may call after 2:00 PM on Friday.
