Bernice Barber, 96, of Grant City, Missouri and a former resident of St. Joseph, Missouri, passed away January 23, 2022 at Orilla's Way in Grant City.

Berniece was born May 19, 1925, to the union of John D. & Doretha Grace Stephenson near Denver, Missouri. Her first 8 years of school was in a one room school (Pebble Ridge). She graduated from Albany High School in 1943. She then married Clair Parman in 1944. Clair was killed in the Battle of the Bulge. To this union was born a daughter, Judith. In 1946, she married Ora Parman, they had a son David, and lived on a farm near Sheridan, Missouri. Ora passed away in 1968. In 1971, she married Bill Barber and they moved to St. Charles, Missouri. Berniece sold Avon for 32 years.

Berniece joined the Lone Star Baptist Church as a teenager and remained a member until moving to St. Joseph in 1989. She then joined the Central Christian Church and later Maxwell Height Presbyterian Church.

Preceded in death by her Parents, Daughter Judi, Granddaughter Beth, Son David, Sister Phyllis, and Brothers Donald, John, Harold, Philip, and Dick.

Survivors include Daughter in Law Karla Parman, Granddaughter Lora Lee Potter, and Great Grandchildren Lora Elizabeth Clemmons, Buffy Trimble, Judith (Jay Cee) Wilkerson, Delaney Shields, Drew Potter and Madison Potter. Great-Great Grandchildren Brody Hawley, and Cortavious Wallace, Step Daughters, Cynthia Barber and Jan Heckadon.
