Obituary

Betty Jane Gillespie, 85 of Albany passed away on Tuesday, December 25, 2012 at Northwest Medical Center in Albany. Jane, the daughter of Phillip and Cassie (Wayman) Henderson was born December 12, 1927 in Gentry, Missouri. On April 24, 1947, she was united in marriage to Merritt Eldon Gillespie in Troy, Kansas. He preceded her in death on March 22, 2010. She was also preceded in death by her parents, two sons, Stuart and Larry Gillespie, brother, Loren Henderson and a sister, Susie Perry. Jane worked for Old American Insurance in Albany for a few years, the selective service, Albany Ledger, helped with preschool and served as a volunteer for Virginia E. George Elementary School. She was a member of the Dorsey Christian Church and the Glory Singers. Survivors: son, Stan (Rene') Gillespie, Leawood, KS; daughters, Janis (Gary) Campbell, Columbia, MO; Pam Gillespie, Kansas City, MO; daughters-in-law, Deanna Gillespie, Albany; Cynthia Kaiser, Boonville, MO; sisters, Vicki McFall, Des Moines, IA; Rose Dilley, Albany; grandchildren, Lisa Trevitt, Bobby Campbell, Heather Campbell, Phillip Gillespie, Laura Almquist, Ryan Gillespie, Rebecca Townlain, Logan Gillespie, Ben Gillespie, Lauren Gillespie, Megan Gillespie; great-grandchildren, Olivia and Julia Stevens, Reese Lenger, Jack Merritt Campbell, Ryker Trevitt and Blair Townlain. The family would like to say thank you to the doctors, nurses and staff at Northwest Medical Center for their care and dedication given to their mother during her time spent at the hospital. Funeral Service: 11:00 AM Saturday, December 29, at the Roberson-Polley Chapel, Albany with burial in the Grandview Cemetery, Albany. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 PM Friday evening at the Roberson-Polley Chapel, where friends may call anytime after 2:00 PM on Friday.
