Betty Rinehart, formerly of Albany, was born February 5, 1937 in Santa Rosa, Missouri to Merle and Myrtle (Pearl) Smith and passed away on September 29, 2012 at the age of 75. Betty graduated from Winston High School in 1955 with a Vocal Music Scholarship. She loved music, teaching herself to play the piano at 14 and won top ratings in High School State Vocal competitions. She would sing the National Anthem at local events, enjoyed singing her favorite hymns and country western songs. Most recently, Betty enjoyed friends, spending the summers at Lake Viking and dancing at the Wagon Wheel. On April 22, 1956, she married Harold "Corky" Rinehart. He preceded her in death on March 6, 1999. She was also preceded in death by her parents and sister, Norma Smith. During her working career, she was employed in Albany as a Certified Nurse Assistant, owned the Flamingo Café, worked for White's Auto and the State of Missouri.
