Burton "Burt" Lee Stegman, 90 of Albany, Missouri passed away on Saturday, June 1, 2013 at Northwest Medical Center in Albany. Burt was born March 15, 1923 in Berlin, Missouri. He was the son of Alva Carl "Shad" and Velma Neita (Ferguson) Stegman. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Tessie Eudora Ellis and niece Joy Davis. Burt joined the Mt. Moriah Baptist Church of Berlin at an early age. He graduated from the Grandview School in 1941. On July 7, 1945, he was united in marriage to Kathleen Royston. They have resided in Albany for most of the 67 years of their marriage, with the exception of a few years spent in Ava, Missouri. He worked as a route salesman for Pepsi Cola for 34 years before he retired. Burt was active in the Senior Center, horseshoe pitching and an avid bowler. His favorite times were spent with his family and drinking coffee with Clarence, J.E. and the rest of the gang. Survivors: wife, Kathleen (Katie) of the home; sister, Margie Wharton, Stanberry/St. Joseph; Nieces and nephews, JoAnne McCoy, Texas; Carl and Jim Ellis, Albany; Neita Clark, New Hampton; Dana Wharton Newby, St. Joseph; several great and great-great nieces and nephews. He will be missed by all who called him Uncle Burt. Funeral Service: 2:00 PM Monday, June 3 at the Roberson-Polley Chapel, Albany with burial in the Berlin Cemetery, Berlin, MO. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the funeral service on Monday at the chapel, where friends may call anytime after 10:00 AM Monday.
