Obituary

Carolyn Joyce Lupfer, 72 of Albany, passed away on November 19, 2014, at King City Manor in King City, MO. Joyce was born on October 21, 1942 in Pattonsburg, MO. She was the youngest child of Dwight and Mary Jane (Dator) Carter. She was raised on the family farm north of Pattonsburg and attended Pattonsburg RII school K-12, graduating in 1960. She married Gene "Frosty" Lupfer on May 29, 1960. Gene and Joyce owned and operated Lupfer Grocery and Feed for many years before moving to Albany in 1980. Joyce was employed at the Gentry County Memorial Hospital as a cook and certified dietary manager for 20 years and served as the President of the Missouri Dietetic Managers Association. Joyce loved music and singing. Joyce was a member of the Dorsey Christian Church. She served as music leader at church and was an active member of the "Glory Singers" for many years. Joyce loved bowling. Gene and Joyce are the parents of 6 daughters, and opened their home to a dozen foster children. She is preceded in death by her parents, mother-in-law, Dorothy Lupfer Daniel, brother-in-law, Dale Coss and sister-in-law, Maureen Carter. Survivors include her husband of 54 years, Gene "Frosty" of the home; six daughters, Kimberly Stimson, Colorado Springs, CO; Lisa (David) McGhee, New Hampton; Tammy (Blaine) Siddens, Albany; Michelle Lupfer, Springfield; Melanie Lupfer, Des Moines, IA; Melissa (Matt) Brennan, Largo, FL; brothers, Homer D. Carter, Bethany; Loren Dale (Nancy) Carter, Lawson; sister, JoAnn Coss, Mission, TX; brother- in-law, Jack (Carol) Lupfer, Albany; 20 grandchildren, 2 step grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and her King City Manor Family. Funeral Service: 10:00 AM Monday, November 24 at the Liberty Baptist Church of McFall. Burial in the McFall Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 PM Sunday evening at the Roberson-Polley Chapel, Albany, where friends may call anytime after 4:00 PM on Sunday.
