Carolyn Jean (Silsby) Paterson, 83, passed away January 21, 2025 in Gentry, Missouri. Carolyn was born June 3, 1941 to Edward and Virginia (Larrabee) Silsby in Hanover, New Hampshire. She had one sister, JoAnne Elizabeth. Her family moved to Vermont where she grew up, attending Middlebury High School and then Middlebury College for nursing, transferring to Vermont State University Castleton for teaching.

Carolyn married Alan Jerome Ball and had two girls, Leslie Carol Alana and Barbara Anne. The family made their way to Tulsa, Oklahoma where they remained for many years. After divorcing Alan, Carolyn married Donald Paterson.

Carolyn made her career as a secretary in the Tulsa County District Attorney Office, where she retired.

Donald preceded her in death. Carolyn found joy and fulfillment in her church and family. Carolyn was a proud Lutheran and loved singing in the choir. She later moved to Missouri to be closer to her daughter Leslie.

After a long battle with cancer, our Lord called her home. She is in His presence and filled with Joy once again.

Carolyn leaves behind her first husband Alan, sister JoAnne Cathcart, her two daughters Leslie and Barbara, four grandchildren, Cassandra Swain, Bridget Saldivar, Vence Jackson and Tyler Cooper, as well as 11 great-grandchildren. Carolyn was dearly loved and will be fiercely missed.
