Obituary

Carroll Duane Jones, 92, of Cameron, Missouri, passed away, Thursday, March 1, 2018 at the Missouri Veterans Home in Cameron.  He was a former resident of Denver, Missouri, Chevy Chase, Maryland, St. Joseph and Kansas City, Missouri.

Carroll was born April 20, 1925 in Siloam Springs, Missouri, the son of Wayne and Esther Fern (Elliott) Jones.

He was preceded in death by his parents and sister Laverne Long.

Carroll was a World War II Army Veteran. He served in Normandy, Northern France, the Rhineland, the Ardennes and central Europe Campaigns.  He was awarded five bronze stars.

Carroll worked in the office for Burlington Northern Railroad. He started his career with the railroad May 2, 1955 and retired June 30, 1975.

He loved classical music, Broadway, gardening, painting, especially seascapes and traveling all over the United States, Canada and Europe.  In 1950, Carroll became a member of the Episcopal Church in St. Joseph.

Survivors: niece, Donna Rieks, Albany; great-niece, Waynette Rieks, Nashville, TN.

Funeral Service: 2:00 PM Sunday, March 4 at the Roberson-Polley Chapel, Albany with burial in the Miller Cemetery, Denver, Missouri.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Sunday at the chapel, where friends may call anytime after 10:00 AM Sunday morning.
