Charlette Ann Dragoo, 84, of Eureka, Kansas, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, August 4, 2026.

Charlette was born on February 15, 1942, in Gentry County, Missouri, the daughter of Lloyd Douglas and Mary Eva (Williams) Smith. As a young woman, she was well on her way to becoming a champion barrel racer before fate led her to the love of her life, William "Bill" V. Dragoo. The couple was united in marriage on July 4, 1959, at Lonestar Church in Gentry County, Missouri, beginning a beautiful marriage that spanned 68 years.

Above all else, Charlette cherished her family. She was a devoted wife, a loving mother, and an adoring grandmother and great-grandmother. She found immense joy cheering on her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren from the sidelines at countless ball games.

Charlette had many talents and interests that filled her life with happiness. She loved crocheting beautiful Afghans that became treasured keepsakes for those she loved. She was also an avid reader who could often be found enjoying a good western romance novel.

A dedicated and hardworking professional, Charlette devoted 48 years to the banking industry. Since 1995, she faithfully served customers at Home Bank and Trust in Eureka, where she remained a valued employee until the time of her passing. Her commitment, kindness, and work ethic earned the respect and admiration of both her coworkers and the community she served.

Those left to cherish her memory include her beloved husband, Bill Dragoo; her children, Mike (Cindy) Dragoo and Cheryl (Randy) Klingensmith; grandchildren, Matt (Amanda) Dragoo, Erin Dragoo, Garrett (Clinton) Dragoo, Adam (Shea) Klingensmith, Jacob (Brooke) Klingensmith, and Eric (Kim) Klingensmith; great-grandchildren, Joliene, Coltin, Morgan, Ryder, Aryanne, Ayden, Acie, Clara, Savannah, and Trinity; her brother, William D. Smith; and her half-brother, Craig Mount.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Lloyd Douglas Smith and Mary Eva Mount, and her great-granddaughter, Macy.

Friends may gather with the family from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, August 14, 2026, at Carlson Funeral Home, 200 S. Star, El Dorado, Kansas. A funeral service celebrating Charlette's life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 15, 2026, at Carlson Colonial Chapel. Charlette will be laid to rest at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, August 22, 2026, in Carmack Cemetery in Missouri under the direction of Roberson-Polley Chapel, Albany.
