Charlotte L. Garland was born January 11, 1924 north of Rock Port, Missouri. She was the daughter of Charles Henry and Louise Margaret (Jones) Stickerod. Charlotte passed away Wednesday, December 30, 2015 in Stanberry at the age of 91.

On February 5, 1949, Charlotte was united in marriage to Velmer Bob Garland in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. He preceded her in death May 19, 2007.

She was also preceded in death by her parents, sisters, Carolyn Ann Snyder, Lydia Lou Haynes, half brother, Carroll Henry Stickerod.

Charlotte was a registered nurse. She graduated from Baptist Memorial Hospital School of Nursing in Memphis, Tennessee. She served in the Cadet Nurse Corps, working at the Navel Hospital in Oakland, California and the Marine Lakeshore Hospital in Chicago, Illinois.

Charlotte and Bob lived and farmed in Rock Port and Darlington. She was a member of the Darlington Baptist Church.

Survivors: sons, Steve (Lynda) Garland, Prince Frederick, Maryland; Dave (Jerri) Garland, Darlington; grandchildren, Justin Garland, Ruslan, Ivan and Ludmilla Garland; great-granddaughter, Alaina.

Funeral Service: 2:00 PM Saturday, January 2 at the Roberson-Polley Chapel, Albany. A private family graveside service will be held in the Grandview Cemetery, Albany. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Saturday at the chapel, where friends may call anytime after 11:00 AM on Saturday.
