Delbert L. Weese 88 of Albany and a former resident of Gillette, Wyoming passed away Wednesday, November 18, 2009 at his home. Delbert, the son of Claude and Lura Mae (Potter) Weese was born March 17, 1921 in King City, Missouri. From 1940 to 1941 Delbert was in the Civilian Conservation Corp, helping build a trail around Devil's Tower, and putting out coal fires for the Bureau of Mines. He served with General Patton's 3rd Army during World War II, from September 14, 1942 to September 30, 1945, receiving the rank of Technician Fourth Grade. Delbert was a mechanic. He worked for the Chevrolet Garage for 9 years and owned and operated Del's Auto in Gillette, Wyoming for 22 years before retiring. He was a member of the Maple Grove Church south of Darlington, then transferred his membership to Gentryville Baptist Church. On December 16, 1999, he was united in marriage to Geraldine Tull. She survives of the home in Albany. He is also survived by his son Norman (Christy) Weese, Gillette, WY; granddaughters Lori Weese and Leslie Warner, both of Denver, CO; grandson, Tony (Angie) Weese, Gillette, WY; step-granddaughters, Kellie (Phillip) Bell, Ogden, IA; Lorie (Dennis) Wilmes, Rea, MO; Jennifer (Chris) Prettyman, Barnard, MO; 4 great-grandchildren, 9 step-great-grandchildren and 1 step-great-great-grandchild; half-brothers, Raymond Weese, Graybull, WY; Kenneth Weese, Dallas, TX; Keith Weese; half-sisters Ruth Beitler, Niceville, FL; Claudette Talouich, Thermopolis, WY. He was preceded in death by his parents; son Lloyd Lee Weese; step-daughter Marilyn Hardin; sister Dorothy Weese Bowman of Albany and a brother Carl Weese of Big Fork, Montana.
