Donald L. Hopkins, 89, of Albany, Missouri, passed away July 26, 2018 at his home.

Donald was born March 17, 1929 in Albany, Missouri, the son of Elmo and Blondina (Summa) Hopkins.

He married Jean M. Shurbert December 18, 1961. She preceded him in death June 15, 2017.

Donald was also preceded in death by his parents, daughter, Linda Christianson, son, Jerry Hopkins and great-grandchild, Chelsie Jolyn Van Ausdal.

He was a Korean Army Veteran and a member of the Albany American Legion Post #106.

Donald was a grater operator for the Kansas Department of Transportation in Dighton, Kansas.  After retiring, he moved back to Albany and worked as a motor grater for Athens Township, retiring after 20 years.

Survivors: children, Norma Morrow; Peggy Van Ausdal; Michael (Lynett) Van Ausdale; Dennis Van Ausdal; Ronald (Connie) Hopkins; Lisa (Todd Wilson) Hopkins; 17 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; brother, Max (Dixie) Hopkins; sisters, Beverly Myers; Carmeta Angle; nieces and nephews.

Funeral Service: 2:00 PM Monday, July 30 at the Roberson-Polley Chapel, Albany.  Burial with military rites will be in the Old Brick Cemetery, Albany.
