Doris (Stagner) Hill, 93 of Albany passed away, Saturday, June 11, 2011 at an Albany nursing home. Doris was born August 9, 1917 in Lucas, Kansas to William Hiram and Amy Elizabeth (Rollins) Stagner. They moved to Martinsville, Missouri when Doris was 9 years old. She attended Martinsville School for 3 years. They moved to Gentry County and she attended the Needles School. On June 5, 1935, Doris married William J. "Bill" Hill. He preceded her in death December 4, 1983. She was also preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Dale and Dean Stagner, Sister-in-law, Maxine Stagner and niece, Billie Stagner Wingfield. Doris & Bill farmed in the Lone Star area and had food stands at the Bethany Fair and other places for years. Doris worked for Frosty's Café, Dew Drop Inn and Pool Hall, Dicks West End Café all of Albany, Noma Lights, St. Joseph and the Stanberry Cap Factory. She was a member of the Lone Star Baptist Church. Survivors: Nieces, Bonnie Dietz, Independence, MO; Bettie (Jim) Lee, Bethany; Barb (Jerry) Popplewell, Albany; Sister-in-law & brother-in-law, Jeane & Bob Wilson, Albany; Great-niece, Tonya (Lonny) McCampbell, Albany; Great-nephew, Todd Stagner, Maryville; and a host of other great-nieces, nephews and great-great nieces and nephews.
