Dorothy Dell (Black) Weese was born June 19, 1929 in Kanabec County, Minnesota to Fred and Hannah (Steves) Black and went home to the Lord on May 10, 2014 at the age of 84. Dorothy moved to Red Oak, Iowa at an early age. She was preceded in death by her parents, and one sister, Elaine Savage. Her brother, Ivan (Rosemary) Black survive in Ogilvie, Minnesota. She married Wilfred Dewey Weese on May 11, 1947 and to this union one son, Gary Weese of Maryville, Missouri was born. He and his wife Ina brought four wonderful grandchildren into Dorothy's life, Daniel (Amy) Weese, Jameson, MO; Denena (Rusty) James, Gravity, IA; David (Samantha) Weese, Silver Bay, MN; Dawn Weese, Maryville, MO; in addition, she is also survived by many great-grandchildren, nephews, nieces and many friends. In addition to being a diligent homemaker, active gardener and creative handy crafter, Dorothy worked many years at the Stanberry Cap Factory and later was a nurses aid at Golden Living Center in Albany, where she became a resident in later life, then recently moved to the Maryville Golden Living Center. While living at both of these units, she was showered with respect, dignity and an abundance of love and care that couldn't be provided otherwise. Funeral Service: 10:00 AM Thursday, May 15 at the First Baptist Church of Albany. Burial will be in the Rouse Cemetery, Darlington, MO. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 PM Wednesday evening at the Roberson-Polley Chapel, Albany, where friends may call anytime after 2:00 PM on Wednesday.
