Dorothy L. (Fowler) McGinley was born December 2, 1931 in Livonia, Missouri to Junior and Eva (Mathis) Fowler. Dorothy passed away at Northwest Medical Center in Albany, Missouri on March 17, 2013 after a short battle with cancer. She was preceded in death by her parents, spouse of 61 years, Max McGinley, son, Randall E. McGinley, sister and brother-in-law, Maxine and Skeeter Martin, and a brother, Don Fowler. She is survived by two sons, Roger of St. Joseph; Robert (Dixie) of Albany as well as 10 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. Dorothy was very active in the Albany community where she resided most of her life. She enjoyed the Pinochle Club and Bridge Club with many of her life long friends. She enjoyed being the choir director at the Albany Christian Church for over 50 years and the many students that she accompanied through the years during the music contests. She felt one of her greatest accomplishments was the privilege she had to direct the community choir for "I Love America" in 1976. During her illness and stay at the hospital she reminisced about her years in which she worked as an aid at the hospital with her sister Maxine and how much she enjoyed that. She worked side by side with her spouse at McGinley Supermarket for 25 years. Other loves included caring for her grandchildren and cooking for the family and friends. Memorial Service: 11:00 AM Wednesday, March 20 at the Albany First Christian Church. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
