Edythe (Fitzwater) Hunter, 87 of Albany passed away Monday, September 14, 2009 at an Albany hospital. Edythe, the daughter of Elmer and Mary (Padgett) Fitzwater was born January 3, 1922 in Watonga, Oklahoma. She was preceded in death by her parents and six sisters. On May 21, 1948, Edythe was united in marriage to Russell G. Hunter. Edythe was a graduate of Lineville, Iowa High School and graduated with her Master's degree from Northwest Missouri State University. Edythe started her teaching career in Elmo, Gasconade, Missouri and Percival, Iowa, then teaching for 31 years in New Hampton before retiring. She was a member of the Albany United Methodist Church and UMW, the Delta Kappa Gamma Sorority, Rabbit Ridge Women's Club and the Grand River Art Club. Survivors: Husband, Russell "Pete" Hunter, of the home; Sons, Steve (Rita) Hunter, Joplin, MO; Mark (Connie) Hunter, McFall, MO; Daughter, Janet (Mark) Weber, Lenexa, KS; Grandchildren, Chad Hunter, Whitney Davied, Lauren and Ethan Weber; Great-grandchild, Halle Davied; 3 step-grandchildren; 4 step-great-grandchildren and a sister, Pauline Garnett, Lebanon, MO.
