Eldon W. Jones, 99, passed away Wednesday July 12, 2017 at the home of his daughter Adrienne (Maryville, MO) with Adrienne and grandson Eli by his side, just 8 days before his 100th birthday.

Eldon was born July 20th, 1917 to Benjamin Jones & Lulu Cooper in Cameron, Missouri. He was raised by his grandmother Maranda Almira Jones from the age of 4 until her death in 1937.

He attended Cameron High School and started working at an early age. After high school he moved to St. Joseph and began working with his uncle Coop as a mechanic and car salesman.

He married Gladys Mae in 1938, to this union his first family was born, daughter Judith Carrol & son Lawrence Wallace. They later divorced.

On June 26, 1955 in Yuma, Arizona Eldon married the love of his life Mildred Clark. They shared many happy years together residing in California while raising their 2 grandsons Steve & Mike Jones.

Upon retiring from McDonald Douglas as a mechanical engineer, Eldon & Mildred left their California life behind and moved back to her hometown of Albany, Missouri where they continued to live out their lives.

Eldon found joy in joining the Albany Park Board & was very proud of his accomplishments and time served.

After the passing of his wife Mildred in 1988 he then met and married Gayla Smith. To this union his second family was born, daughters Maranda Marie & Adrienne Hope. They later divorced but remained close friends.

Eldon enjoyed working outside, fishing, feeding wild birds, taking care of his many pets (he was a bit of a "crazy ol cat man"), & spending time with the ones he loved the most.

He was an amazing father & grandfather who taught his loved ones exactly what the meaning of unconditional love was. His daughters will always remember him for his strength but even more so as their hero & best friend. These treasured memories will be cherished forever and comfort them until the day they meet again.

Eldon was preceeded in death by his wife Mildred, daughter Judy, & son Larry.

He will be deeply missed by his daughters Maranda & Adrienne Jones, grandchildren Trey & Maylie Donaldson, Eli Wallace Jones, & his 2 eldest grandsons Steve & Mike Jones. Last but not least his grey baby, Noony.

Funeral Service: 1:00 PM Saturday, July 22 at the Roberson-Polley Chapel, Albany with burial in the Grandview Cemetery, Albany. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 PM Friday evening at the chapel, where friends may call anytime after 2:00 PM Friday. Memorial Contributions: Eldon W.
