Emmett (Barney) Chenoweth was born April 7, 1928 in Eddyville, Missouri, the son of Delner W. and Inace (Gillespie) Chenoweth and passed away July 16, 2017 at his home in Darlington, Missouri at the age of 89.
In his early years he was a rancher in Valentine, Nebraska. He toured rodeo circuits in four states as a bull rider, bronco rider and calf roper. He was a truck driver and owned and operated the Conoco Station in King City. For over 21 years he worked for Rea Grain and Feed in Rea, Missouri. After retiring, he started ranching and farming again.
He was a member of the Darlington Baptist Church and a 45 year member of AA.
He was preceded in death by his parents, second wife Jeannett (Resse) Chenoweth January 1, 1989, sisters Agnes Langford, Gladys Dannar, Dorothy Hammond, Goldie Boatright, Auda Bratcher, brothers Robert and Clyde Chenoweth.
Survivors: Companion for 24 years, Mary Spillman of the home; sons, Robert Chenoweth and William D. Chenoweth both of Savannah, MO; daughters, Lois Jean (Mike) Rogers, De Soto, KS; Twila Cook, St. Joseph, MO; Carol (Clint) Woods, Higbee, MO; brother, Cliff Chenoweth, Kansas City, MO; 10 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild.
