Esther Mae Hughes, 84 of Albany passed away, Wednesday, July 7. 2010 at an Albany nursing home. Esther, the daughter of Charley and Gladys (Kinder) Robertson was born August 12, 1925 in Bethany, Missouri. On December 16, 1944, Esther was united in marriage to Dale R. Hughes. To this union one daughter, Dianna Mae was born. Esther and Dale spent 17 winters in South Texas, where they were members of the Campers for Christ Group and the Oral Roberts Evangelistic Association. Dale and Esther were married for 64 years, when Dale preceded her in death on December 31, 2008. She was also preceded in death by her parents, 4 brothers, Olen, Rondle Lee, Earnest and Melvin Wayne Robertson and one sister, Helen Barrett. Esther graduated from Bethany High School with the class of 1945. She worked for Old American Insurance in Albany for 22 years and Gentry County Memorial Hospital for 2 years before retiring. Esther was a member of the Albany Assembly of God Church, where she served as Sunday school teacher, pianist and church secretary. In her spare time, she enjoyed gardening and working with flowers. Survivors: Daughter, Dianna Chapman and husband Wayne, Lee's Summit, MO; Brothers, Danny Robertson, St. Joseph, MO; Harold Robertson, Leavenworth, KS; Mark David Robertson, Casper, WY; Nieces, Donna Moore, Branson, MO; Janet Davis, Eagle, ID; Great-Niece, Kellie Dale Hensley, Hollister, MO; and several nieces and nephews.
