Gary Eugene Boyd
April 13, 1948 - July 22, 2022
Gary Eugene Boyd was born in Bethany, Missouri on April 13, 1948, to Clifton Eugene and Eunice Beatrice (Barber) Boyd as their only child. He grew up on the farm near Gentryville and attended school in Albany where he graduated in 1966. He attended and graduated college at Northwest Missouri State University in Maryville in 1970.
He married his wife Ginny (Virginia) Shepard on July 6, 1968.
Gary worked for Burd & Fletcher in multiple roles over a 49-year period and made his home in the Liberty/Kearney area.
He was preceded in death by his mother (Bea) and his father (Gene).
He leaves his wife (Ginny) at their home near Kearney, MO; his son Steve (Becky) and his two grandchildren Austin and Addison Boyd of Plattsburg, MO.
Even though he lived near Kansas City for much of his life "Home" was always Albany. He bought cars at the locally owned Ford Dealership until it closed, he supported Albany businesses, Banks, and anything that would support Albany or the local people he knew and cherished. He also enjoyed catching up with anyone on Saturdays. He kept an archive of Albany Ledger's which he read religiously every week, so that he knew what was happening in Albany. He attended all school reunions and enjoyed engaging in all civic events.
His greatest joy was his grandkids Austin and Addison. He enjoyed being with them, attending their events, hearing their stories. He also liked telling them his stories about his youth in Albany and on the farm. He liked to tell them unflattering stories about his immediate family also.
One of Gary's passions were the farms in Gentry County which he worked and cared for over the course of his entire life. He also enjoyed time with his family and vacations across the US (his favorite was traveling by car anywhere West). He also travelled to Europe and New Zealand.
