Gary Dean Guthrie, 76 of Denver, Missouri and a former resident of LeSueur, Minnesota, passed away on Friday, September 12, 2014 at his home. Gary was born on April 7, 1938 in Osceola, Iowa, the son of Charles and Edith (South) Guthrie. On July 1, 1960, he was united in marriage to Nancy May Brenke. She preceded him in death on December 14, 2009. He was also preceded in death by his parents, sisters, Karen McCarl and Twyla Hudson, brother-in-law, Bud Brenke and sister-in-law, Marcella Schmid. Gary was a master electrician. He owned and operated Guthrie Electric, Inc. in LeSueur, Minnesota. He was a member of the Albany First Presbyterian Church, member of I.B.E.W., past member of the LeSueur Rotary Club and the V.F.W. Post #4297 in LeSueur. Survivors: daughter, Jane (Jeff) Hass, Elk River, MN; sons, Dean (Kelly) Guthrie, Ypsilanti, MI; Dallas Guthrie, Overland Park, KS; grandchildren, Cecelia Guthrie, Jake Guthrie, Josh Phipps, Dillon Phipps, Bailey Phipps and Sadie Murdock; sister, Elisha Jones; brother-in-law, Mitchell McCarl; sisters-in-law, Florence Gordon, Elfa Brenke and Elsie Robinson. Funeral Service: 10:00 AM Tuesday, September 16 at the Albany First Presbyterian Church. Graveside Service and Burial with Military Rites will be Tuesday 2:00 PM at the Murray Cemetery, Murray, Iowa. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 PM Monday evening at the Roberson-Polley Chapel, Albany, where friends may call anytime after 2:00 PM on Monday.
