Gene Raymond "Schmitty" Schmidt, 83, of Albany, Missouri, passed away May 20, 2020 at Pine View Manor in Stanberry, Missouri. He was born June 5, 1936 in Oshkosh, Nebraska.

He was preceded in death by his parents Raymond Henry and Ora (McQuerry) Schmidt, brother Jerry Schmidt, half sisters Gracie Corlett, Charlene (Pat) Bridger, half brothers, Charles and Cecil Ward.

Schmitty enjoyed riding his four wheeler, helping Bob Hardin, taking care of his little dog and picking up walnuts.

His most memorable moments include: attending the Bethany Fair, working at the Missouri State Fair and many other carnivals.

Survivors: half sister, Shirley (Jim) Coss, Bethany; half brother, Terry (Julie) Ward, Norfolk, NE.
