George Thomas Parks was born October 26, 1941 to Floyd Otha and Pauline Francis (Lupfer) Parks in McFall, MO. George passed away August 22, 2010 in St. Joseph, MO at the age of 68. He attended McFall School. In his later years he earned his GED, for which he and his family were very proud. He worked for the City of St. Joseph operating heavy equipment except for the last ten years, which was working at the landfill. He tried retirement, and then went to work for the Parks and Services of St. Joseph. He worked there until his death. December 24, 1975, George married Joyce Henry of St. Joseph. They were married in Troy, KS. She survives of the home. Additional survivors are a daughter from a previous marriage, Stacey Ruder of Seal Beach, CA; two sisters, Mildred Walker (Harold) Daniel of Pattonsburg, MO and Nancy (Gerald) Sprague of McFall, MO; two sisters-in-law, Dee (Glenn) Farrow of St. Joseph, MO and Teresa Henry of Platte City, MO; two brothers-in-law, Kenneth Popplewell, Albany, MO and Donnie (Donna) Henry of McFall, MO; three grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. George was preceded in death by his parents; one step-son, Duane Howard; sister, Betty Popplewell; one infant brother; one infant sister and brothers-in-law, Cleo Walker and Bob Henry. George was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, brother, and uncle. He will be greatly missed by all.
