Gerald Sweat, 84 of Albany passed away Monday, November 30, 2009 at his home. Gerald was born August 25, 1925 in McFall, Missouri. He was the son of Lester and Della Mae (Cummings) Sweat. His parents preceded him in death and also his sister Venita Woody. On October 17, 1945, Gerald was united in marriage to Anne Dakan. Gerald was a World War II Navy Veteran. He was a retired parts representative for Interstate Ford in St. Joseph. He was a member and deacon of the Albany First Christian Church and a member of the Albany Country Club. Survivors include his wife Anne of the home in Albany; Daughter Jeri Ann (Keith) Bowen, Excelsior Springs, MO; Sister Wilma Stevens, Albany; Grandchildren Casey & Calan McConkey and Taylor Jennings all of Excelsior Springs; 4 step-grandchildren and 1 step-great-grandchild.
