Gertrude (Trudy) Steele, 94, of Cameron and a former  resident of Albany, MO, Rochester, MN, and St. Joseph, MO passed away on Wednesday, March 8,  2017 at the Missouri Veterans Home in Cameron.

Trudy was  born January 14, 1923  in Albany, the daughter of James and Marie (Siddens) Myers.

She was preceded in death by her parents, sisters Kathleen Noble and Betty Thompson, and her brother, Cleo (Eddie) Myers.

Trudy was a United States WWII Navy veteran.  She was a  life member of the American Legion and the VFW.

Spending most of her working life in Rochester, Trudy worked as a Personnel Specialist for the State of Minnesota.

Survivors: sons Jim Steele, St. Joseph, and Jerry Steele, Cameron; grandson Nick Steele, Columbia; granddaughters Tricia Hainey and Toni Grubbs, both of Cameron; nieces Anita Caraway, Joan Lynch, and Connie Worden; nephews Bob and Jim Thompson; and dear friend and mother of  her grandchildren, Pat Steele.
