Grace (Ellis) Henton, 99 years old, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother, joined her husband, Harry Lee in Heaven on December 13, 2012. Grace was born April 6, 1913 in Gentry County near Darlington, MO. She would have celebrated 100 years of life in 2013. She graduated from Darlington High School. On August 26, 1933, Grace was united in marriage to Harry Lee Henton. To this union, two daughters were born, Pat and Linda. They resided in Albany until 1937, when they moved to Overland Park, Kansas. While living in Overland Park, she was an active member of the Overland Park Baptist Church for 44 years. Grace worked as a professional seamstress, owned her own drapery business, worked with designers and Ranchmart Floral in Leawood, Kansas. Grace loved the outdoors, gardening and reading. She was fun loving and always ready for a good time such as a wiener roast in the snow at Easter or a motorcycle ride to Branson in her 80's. Her travels took her to Hawaii, Florida, Canada, the eastern seaboard and annual trips to the Ozarks and Colorado. In 1977, Grace and her husband retired to Albany where she became an active member of the Missionary Society of the Baptist Church and the Albany Senior Center. Grace was preceded in death by her husband, Harry Lee Henton on April 2, 1984, parents, Albert and Mary (Marsh) Ellis, three brothers, Elvis, Marsh and Albert Ellis, three sisters, Erma Pilburn, Valeda (Rainey) Speers and Melissa (Mae) Hatheway. She is survived by her daughters, Pat Potter, Overland Park, KS; Linda (Phil) Steck, Shawnee, KS; 9 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandson. Her family and friends will miss her beautiful smile and fun loving sense of humor. The family would like to thank her friends, relatives, the staff at Golden Living and Dr. Martin for enhancing her last few years. Celebration of Life: 11:00 AM Saturday, December 15 at the Roberson-Polley Chapel, Albany with burial in the Grandview Cemetery, Albany. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Saturday at the Roberson-Polley Chapel, where friends may call anytime after 8:00 AM Saturday.
