Grant Edward Gullen left his painful world for a better one on August 25, 2011 at his home in Albany, Missouri. He was born in Chicago, Illinois on August 1, 1941 in Grant Hospital on Grant Place by Doctor Grant Altonos. He was the oldest of five children born to Edward and Dora Gullen. He moved to Claycomo, Missouri at age 10 and graduated from North Kansas City High School in 1959. He became an Eagle Scout in 1957 and enjoyed his camp days at Osceola, Missouri during the days of former Kansas City Mayor, H. Roe Bartle, who created the Tribe of Mic-O-Say. Grant was a jack of all trades, building everything from housing projects, hotel in Las Vegas to a run-way in Southern Missouri. He so enjoyed his shop where he could build or fix anything. His move to Albany with his family was a very happy move, working with Continental Grain Start-up. He never wanted to leave Albany for anything. He loved boating and was an early member of the Missouri River Boating Association. He also enjoyed cooking, hunting, fishing, archery, but most of all camping in Colorado with his family. Grant married Sharon McLain on May 24, 1987 in Cainsville, Missouri. They resided in Parkville and Smithville. He is survived by her and son Taylor to whom he passed many wonderful skills. He is also survived by sisters, Bonnie Kirtley, Kansas City; Holly Stout, Omaha, NE; brother, Mark Gullen, Nashville, TN; Sister-in-law & spouse, Lory & Greg Eads, Jamesport, MO; and his dog, Oscar.
