Harland C. Pierce, 90 of Albany, Missouri passed away, Friday, May 27, 2011. He was born on June 30, 1920 to Cleo and Laura (Yadon) Pierce in Alanthus Grove, Missouri. He served in the Army and was a veteran of World War II. During World War II, he served in the Spearhead Third Armored Tank Division as a gunner. Harland received five battle stars for major battles fought in France, Belgum and Germany, ending at the Battle of the Bulge. Harland went into farming upon returning home from the Army and retired from farming in 2004. He enjoyed the hobby of wood crafting and made many decorative lawn ornaments. Harland also loved playing cards and enjoyed being with family. He was a life long member of the Church of Christ in Alanthus Grove, Missouri. Harland was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Garland and sister, Vasta Bentley. Survivors include his sister-in-law, Elizabeth Pierce; nieces, Wanda Wilson (John); Joyce Moran (Glenn); Patty Schubert; Phillis Stoll (John); Connie King (Bill); nephew, Garland Pierce Jr;
