Hazel I. Owens, 92 of Albany, passed away on Friday, July 18, 2014 at Liberty Hospital, Liberty, Missouri. Hazel, the daughter of L.M. "Babe" and Nannie (Todd) Cook was born January 30, 1922 in Harrison County, Missouri. Hazel graduated from Blythedale High School in 1941. In that same year, she married Paul W. Owens. He preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her parents, sons, Andy, Richard and Beanie, daughters, Carolyn and Becky, grandchildren, Julie Ann, Paul Eugene and Kimberly Dale, two sisters and three brothers. Hazel was a member of the Gentryville Baptist Church. Hazel loved her family and community. Survivors: sons, Ted (Betty); Steve (Janet); Hal (Sonya), all of Albany; Carl (Elaine), Grant City; daughters, Kathryn (John) Overly; Barb (Mike) Stewart, both of Albany; daughters-in-law, Roberta "Bert" Owens; Denise Owens; sister, Mary Moore; brothers, James and Andy Jack Cook; sister-in-law, Helen Cook; numerous grandchildren, great and great-great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews. Funeral Service: 10:00 AM Monday, July 21 at the Roberson-Polley Chapel, Albany with burial in the Cedar Hill Cemetery, Blythedale, MO. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the funeral service on Monday at the chapel, where friends may call anytime after 8:00 AM Monday morning.
