Obituary

Homer Gerald "Bob" Yeater, age 93, of Marionville, Missouri, passed away at 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday, January 16, 2018, at the Missouri Veterans Home in Mt. Vernon, Missouri. He was born September 7, 1924, in Albany, Missouri, the son of Roy and Hannah (Hise) Yeater. He was a boy scout and a member of the Baptist Church in Albany. He worked in the Yeater Bakery and Restaurant during his school years.

Bob was a 1942 graduate of Albany High School. He was United States Army Air Force Veteran serving during World War II where he flew the P38 Lockheed Lightning fighter airplane. After the war, he received his Bachelor's Degree from Missouri Valley College in Marshall, Missouri. On April 2, 1949, he married Betty Lou Hass of Allendale, Mo.

Bob worked for Wilson Sporting Goods and the J.I. Case Company in Kansas City, Missouri, as credit manager.   After retirement, he loved to travel with the KC Airstream Club. . He and his wife, Betty, traveled over the United States, Canada and Mexico..   They retired to the Missouri Methodist Manor Village in Marionville, MO.

Bob is survived by his wife of 68 years, Betty; four sister-in-law's, Mary Boll and her husband, Donnie, of Verona, Missouri, Pal Hass of Pittsfield, Illinois, Louise Hass of Gallatin, Missouri and Mary Hass of Garden City, Kansas; one brother-in-law, Charles Smith of Marionville and several nieces and nephews.

His parents, Roy and Hannah and sister, Marjorie, preceded him in death.

Memorial Graveside Service with Military Rites:  2:00 PM Friday, April 20 at the Grandview Cemetery, Albany, Missouri. Memorial Contributions: Missouri Veterans Home in care of the Roberson-Polley Chapel, 403 N. Hundley, Albany, MO 64402.
