Irys Neal, 86, of Albany and a former resident of Lee's Summit, Missouri, passed away on Sunday, March 3, 2013 at Heartland Regional Medical Center in St. Joseph, Missouri. Irys, the daughter of Dale and Leona (Baker) McKenzie was born September 24, 1926 in Kingsley, Iowa. Her parents preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by eleven brothers and sisters. Irys was united in marriage to Lloyd Neal on May 18, 1946. To this union three children were born, Sherry, Stephen and Karen. Irys and Lloyd owned and operated Neal Realty in Lee's Summit for 30 years. Later they made their home in Albany, where she attended the First Presbyterian Church and the Presbyterian Ladies Group. Survivors: Husband, Lloyd Neal of the home; two daughters, Sherry (Wayne) Sims, Lenexa, KS; Karen (Richard) Mills, Boulder City, NV; son, Stephen (Debbie) Neal, DeSoto, KS; twin sister, Jo (Mark) Zamantakis, Denver, CO; sister, Eliner (Marvin) Schroder, Denver, CO; brother, Donald McKenzie, Omaha, NE; 7 Grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral Service: 10:00 AM Thursday, March 7 at the Roberson-Polley Chapel, Albany with burial in the High Ridge Cemetery, Stanberry. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 PM on Wednesday evening at the chapel, where friends may call anytime after 2:00 PM on Wednesday.
