Obituary

Iva Faye (Butler) Richardson, 92, departed this life October 31, 2009, at the Springfield Rehabilitation Center in Springfield, Missouri. She was born July 25, 1917 at Siloam Springs to the late George and Martha Butler. She met and married Haynes L. Richardson while working in Albuquerque, New Mexico. He preceded her in death as did five brothers, William, Luna, Euel, Orville, and Paul; and five sisters, Opal Guess, Versa Rainey, Mary Upchurch, Lois Jones, and Goldie Keebler. Surviving are two sons, Peter and his wife Ellen of Springfield, MO and Douglas of Phoenix, AZ; three grandchildren, Nicole and Kevin of Springfield, and Eric and his wife Lindsey of Lakeland, FL who gave her a great-grandson, Cohen; and several great-nieces and nephews and others in the extended family. She graduated from Albany High School and held various jobs but spent most of her life in Albany. There were a few years spent in Albuquerque, NM and in Tacoma, WA but Albany was always considered her home. She moved to Springfield, MO in 1987 to be closer to her family. She is probably best remembered by her Albany friends for her years as a teller at the Gentry County Bank where she seemed to know everyone in town. She was a woman of strong faith and was an active member of the First Baptist Church of Albany and after moving to Springfield joined the Second Baptist Church where she made many friends and enjoyed the blessings of the church. She lived for God, family, and friends. She will be missed by all who knew her.
