Obituary

Jackie L. Myers, 79 of Albany, passed away, Thursday, January 5, 2012 at an Albany hospital. Jack, the son of John and Estella (Lewis) Myers was born December 8, 1932 in King City, Missouri. Jack was a Korean Army Veteran, a member of the American Legion Post #106 and the VFW Post #5329 of Albany. On July 29, 1956, he married Beverly Hopkins and to this union two children were born, Peggy and Jackie. He is survived by his wife, Beverly of the home; daughter, Peggy (Ron) Stooksbury, Albany; son, Jackie (Gina) Myers, Bethany; grandchildren, Jenny (Terry) Carlock and Jeff Stooksbury, of Albany; Avery and Piper Myers, Bethany; great-grandchildren, Kolby, Jake and Arley Carlock, Jeffery, Trey and Chase Stooksbury; one sister and three brothers and other close family. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and two sisters. Jack drove a truck for 42 years before retiring. His great love was driving a school bus for all the students, coaches and other staff for the Albany School District. Driving the bus for many years, Jack was very proud to be the driver for the athletics of Warrior Country.
