James Robert Forbis, age 63, passed away at home in Yuba City, California on Friday, February 24, 2017. The cause of death was heart related.
He was born October 7, 1953 in Oskaloosa, Iowa to Maurice and Lola Fay (McGinley) Forbis. He spent his early years in Rock Port, Missouri, where he attended High School and was very active in football. Over his lifetime he gained a great eye for photography and a love for classic cars, vintage motorcycles, and everything else that burned gas at extreme gallons per mile! Also he took time off for an occasional round of golf.
James worked at atomic power plants all over the United States. In 1975 he married Glenna Mueller in Scappose, Oregon. They became the parents two children, Jenny & James.
James continued traveling to power plants finally settling in Yuba City working for the PG&E gas company.
He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents. Survivors include his fiancé Betty Dorough, Yuba City, CA; sister and brother in law Carolyn and Charles Taylor, Blue Springs, MO; daughter and son in law Jenny and Rich Hoerauf, Scappose, OR; and son James Forbis, Scappose, OR; granddaughter Jaylynne Hoerauf and grandson Carter Hoerauf, both of Scappose, OR; nieces, nephews and many cousins. All will miss his engaging personality.
