Obituary

James L. Jumps, 82 of Albany passed away Monday, January 18, 2010 at a St. Joseph hospital. James, the son of Roy and Margaret (Officer) Jumps was born September 14, 1927 in Mound City, Missouri. James served his country during World War II and the Korean War in the Navy and Air Force. He graduated from Mound City High School in 1945. On September 12, 1951, he was united in marriage to Joan Thompson. She preceded him in death March 3, 1997. He was also preceded in death by his parents and sister Rose Ellen Jumps. Before retiring, James was a sales representative for Beatrice Food in St. Joseph. He was a member of the Athens Lodge #127 A.F. & A.M. and the Albany Country Club. Survivors: Son John (Robin) Jumps, Lincoln, NE; Daughter Carolyn (Homer) Schlueter, Princeville, IL; Grandchildren Troy (Genevieve) Schlueter, Ryan Schlueter, Jamie (Jose) Rivera and Jillian Jumps; Brothers, Junior (Luella) Jumps, Boliver, MO; Russell (Dorothy) Jumps, Mound City, MO.
