Jeanne Strong Manning, 97, of Marshalltown, Iowa formerly of Albany, Missouri, passed away on Monday, January 19, 2015, at the Iowa River Hospice Home in Marshalltown, Iowa. Jeanne Strong was born on November 18, 1917, in Spencer, Iowa; she was the daughter of Guy and Maude (Graves) Strong. Jeanne attended School in the Spencer Community School District and then went on to receive her Master's Degree in Music from Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa. Jeanne was united in marriage to George W. Manning in Spencer, Iowa. She taught in the Albany School District for many years until her retirement. She loved music, loved to sing and was a very talented musician. She taught piano lessons, enjoyed china painting and quilting. Jeanne will be remembered for her smile, teaching, giving, clubs and love of people. Left to cherish her memory are her children: Madilyn Abernathy of Marshalltown, Iowa and Max (Linda) Manning of Howell, Michigan, 6 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren and 2 on the way. In death Jeanne rejoins her parents, Guy and Maude, husband, George and a daughter, Meredith Good. Memorial Service: 10:30 AM Saturday, January 24 at the Roberson-Polley Chapel, Albany. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the memorial service on Saturday at the chapel.
