Obituary

Jerald Lloyd Manring, of Albany, Missouri, passed away on Monday, July 8, 2019 at home on the family farm.  He was 93 years old.

Jerald was born May 10, 1926 to Lloyd and Opal (Elam) Manring.  He grew up a farm boy, attending Spessard School, and later graduated from Albany High School in 1944.

Mr. Manring followed his call of duty, by serving as a signal man on the U.S.S. New Jersey during World War II.

He returned home to marry Jessie Coffey on June 11, 1948.

Jerald held various jobs throughout his lifetime. He was always a very hard worker, not retiring until he was 80.

He worked several years in California raising his family.  His dream was always to return to the Missouri farm, which he loved, and spent the rest of his life on the family homestead.  His first love was farming, but to supplement his income, he started his own business, Manring Trenching Service.  He also did plumbing and electrical work.

Survivors include: his beloved wife, Jessie; children, Peggy, Randy, David and Cathy; 9 grandchildren 10 great-grandchildren; sister, Mildred Chapman; many nieces and nephews.

Graveside Service and Burial: 11:00 AM Friday, July 12 at the Grandview Cemetery, Albany.  There is no scheduled family visitation, however friends many call anytime after 9:00 AM Friday morning at the Roberson-Polley Chapel, Albany.  Memorial Contributions:  Albany First Baptist Church in care of the Roberson-Polley Chapel, 403 N.
