Obituary

Jerry J. Cline was born September 19, 1954, to Vernon J. Cline and Retha Marie (Kariker) Cline in their little house on the farm. This is where he passed away on Monday, September 2, 2019. The little house is gone but he and his wire, Judy, moved to the farm in September, 2000. The beginning and ending at the same place.

Jerry graduated from Albany High School in 1972. He kept in touch with some of his classmates who always enjoyed a visit when possible.

He married Judy Bacon on September 16, 1973, at the Gentryville Baptist Church. Jerry is a member of the Gentryville Baptist Church and remained active until his health became such that he could not attend. Jerry was ordained as a Deacon on January 15, 1989, and also served as Treasurer, Sunday School Superintendent and other jobs as needed. He also called various speakers/preachers to fill pulpit when no pastor was available, ensuring services would be held.

Jerry's family lived in North Dakota when he was very young. Jerry remembered living on the ranch near Devil's Lake, North Dakota. He would tell how his Mother would put his tricycle on the second floor where the hired hands were located and it was his job to call the farm hands to dinner at the request of his Mother. He revisited the area in the 1970's and was able to drive to the exact location where the ranch was located.

Jerry enjoyed traveling, hunting, fishing and farming with his father, Vernon, until Vernon passed away in 1991. Jerry worked at Wal-Mart in Bethany for a short time, then started to work at Albany Feed & Grain which later became Gages' Fertilizer & Grain where he worked until 2014 when his health was becoming an issue. He traveled across many counties spreading lime & fertilizer as well as delivering feed for customers. Many roads he would mention that he had been there, some as far south as the KCI Airport area, into Iowa, into Harrison County and beyond.

Jerry and Judy were fortunate to travel through many states usually along with their little schnauzers. They enjoyed visiting Maine especially and went there several years on vacation. They were blessed to explore our America together, through Maine, Vermont, New Hampshire, upstate New York, Wisconsin, Minnesota, North and South Dakota, Montana, Wyoming, Colorado, Kansas, Nebraska, Nevada, Oklahoma, Illinois, Indiana, Washington, Oregon, northern California, Arkansas, Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia, North & South Carolina, Tennessee, Kentucky, New Mexico, Arizona, into Canada, New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island, and even into Mexico once. They were blessed to have the time to share together and make memories.

Jerry is survived by his wife, Judy of the home; sister, Nancy Marshall (Jim Marshall), Albany; nephews, Rick & Rusty; sister, Judy Baxter, Devils Lake, ND; nephews, Tim & Tom.
