Jesse Lloyd
Smith
Jan 20, 1936 — Feb 17, 2025
Jesse Lloyd Smith, 89, of Albany, Missouri, passed away on February 17, 2025, at Pine View Manor in Stanberry, where he had spent the last three years of his life following a stroke in 2021.
Jesse was born on January 20, 1936, in Albany, Missouri, to Robert Lee and Jessie (Robertson) Smith.
On February 3, 1957, Jesse married Norene Dye. To this union, four children were born: Rick, Teresa, John and Rhonda.
In 1966, Jesse and Norene purchased the MFA Station in Albany, where he worked for many years as a mechanic. He retired in 2004 after a lifetime of hard work and dedication to the Albany community.
Jesse had a deep love for the outdoors. His hobbies included hunting, fishing, and camping. If anyone mentioned fishing, you could bet Jesse had his fishing pole in hand and was ready to go. He found peace and joy in these activities, making memories with his family and friends.
Jesse accepted Jesus as his Savior at a young age. In February 1977, he rededicated his life and faithfully studied and served the Lord until his death.
Jesse was preceded in death by his parents, sisters Marie Graham and Jean Ziegler, brother Raymond Smith, and his granddaughter Andrea Rae Messner.
He is survived by his wife, Norene, of the home; sons, Rick Smith and John (Diana) Smith, all of Albany, MO; daughters, Teresa (James) Messner, St. Joseph, MO; Rhonda (Fred) Manion, Albany, MO; 6 grandchildren, Justin (Britton) Manion, Myles (Jada) Manion, Tyler (Stacy) Messner, Jessi Rae Messner, Tyson (Krystin) Smith, and Ambrie (Travis) Hitch; 7 great-grandchildren, Tyler Shea and Tyce Smith, Ryder, Brooks, and Hayes Hitch, Zennie Manion, and Charlotte Messner; and several nieces and nephews.
