John Douglas Anderson, 65, of Albany, Missouri, passed away on December 6, 2024, at Mosaic Life Care in St. Joseph, Missouri.
Born on December 10, 1958, in Santa Ana, California, John was the son of Paul and Edyth Lorraine (Buck) Anderson. He grew up in San Diego, where he developed a passion for serving others. After many years of dedicated service as a firefighter, John retired.
On October 13, 2015, John married Antonia Garcia. John and Antonia moved to Albany, Missouri, where they purchased the former Albany Christian Church and transformed it into Ande's Whistle Stop, a beloved local business. John and Antonia poured their hearts into their new adventure, becoming a big part of the community and created a welcoming place where everyone could enjoy good food, great conversation, and a warm atmosphere.
John was preceded in death by his parents, and his sister, Deborah Munoz.
He is survived by his wife, Antonia, of the home in Albany; stepdaughter, Natalie & husband Mark McIntyre, San Diego, CA; stepsons, Austin & wife Rose Gaines; Peter Gaines, all of Aurora, CO; 7 grandchildren; sister, Pamela Anderson, San Diego, CA.
