Obituary

John Lee Duley, 81 of Stanberry passed away, Sunday, September 4, 2011 at an Albany hospital. John, the son of Arthur and Shirley (Nugent) Duley was born August 9, 1930 in Stanberry, Missouri. He graduated from Stanberry High School in 1948. He then joined the United States Navy and played the trombone with the Admiral 6 Fleet Band from 1948 - 1953. After the Navy he stayed in France for 9 years, playing his trombone in various clubs, returning to the United States to live in Stanberry, Missouri. John retired from Farmland Industries. He was a member of the Raymond Sager American Legion Post #260 of Stanberry. In his free time, he enjoyed playing his trombone and fishing. On September 26, 1981, he married Coleen (Fletchall) Lawson. She preceded him in death on September 24, 2010. He was also preceded in death by his parents. Survivors: Step-daughter, Susan (Kevin) Shisler, Albany; Step-Son, Scott (Dianna) Lawson, Cameron, MO; 7 Step-Grandchildren; 1 Step-Great-Granddaughter and his dog, Crickett.
