John "Jay" Wesley Richmond, Jr. was born in Albany, Missouri on January 25, 1983 to John and Aileen Richmond.  He was diagnosed with a brain tumor at six months of age.  After several operations he was totally dependent on the care of others.

With the support of their family, friends, and the Albany community, John and Aileen perfectly modeled love and sacrifice, caring for Jay in their home for 42 years.  They are especially grateful for the care he received from local physicians Dr. Arturo Tenorio, Dr. Ginny Tenorio, and Dr. Oliver Soghrati; in-home caregivers Julie Wilson, Madonna McGhee, Gwen Stitt, Etta Wilkinson, and Nancy Nicholson; personal nurse Vicki Hogue; and the caregivers at the now Mosaic Lifecare-Albany and Case Street Rolling Hills.

Jay's unique combination of innocence and toughness made a meaningful and lasting impact on everyone who knew and cared for him.

Jay is survived by his parents; brother Brett (Heidi) Richmond of Omaha, Nebraska and their sons Carter, Conner, and Charlie; and brother Brian (Katie) Richmond of Seattle, Washington and their daughters Edie, Susie, and Lucy.

A visitation will be held on Monday, June 30 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Peter's Church at 614 North Alanthus, Stanberry, Missouri 64489 with Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 a.m., and lunch to immediately follow.  A family internment will be at Grandview Cemetery in Albany, Missouri.
