Judith Ann Edwards was born the oldest of two children to Howard and Ida Powell on January 26, 1941 in St. Joseph, Missouri. She passed away peacefully on July 22, 2018 at Northwest Medical Center in Albany.
She attended Lafayette High School and Missouri Western University.
She married Richard Edwards Sr. in August of 1972. She was employed as a manager of the food department at Katz Drug Store. She was a gifted artist and loved to paint. In Union Star, Missouri, she held tole painting classes, owned and operated an antique shop and coached the girl's softball team. She was also a supervisor for the House of Lloyds and earned numerous trips around the world. Judy and her husband moved to St. Joseph where she was a secretary for the Stationary Union Office, worked in sales at Hatfield's Antique Mall and had a successful business on EBAY selling jewelry and antiques.
Judy was preceded in death by her parents, stepmom Ola Mae Powell, grandson, Matthew Raines, nephew, John Eric Mingee and several step-siblings.
Judy was a devoted wife to Richard Edwards Sr., St. Joseph; devoted mother of five children, daughter, Lisa Ann (Bill) Luther, McFall; sons, Dennis R. (Lisa) McGee, Clarksdale, MO; Charles L. (Lisa) McGee, Jr., Oregon, MO; David (Vail) Edwards and Richard L. Edwards, Jr. both of St. Joseph; sister, Janet Johnson, Savannah, MO; grandchildren, Heather Loo, Robert (Satsuki) McGee, Krystal (JC) Frame, Amy Gladden, Angela McGee, grandchild Autumn Marie on the way, Christopher (Lacy) Raines, Nathaniel and Andrew Raines, Trever, Anthony, Jordan, Kari, Mayson, Khloe and Jacob Edwards; 18 great-grandchildren and great-grandchild, Karlie Ann Pugh who helped care for her over this summer. She was also known as Grandma Judy to several other children.
The family will hold a memorial service in her memory at a later date.
