Kyle Dewey Snead was born April 29, 1925 on his parent's farm near Lone Star, Missouri. He died at Northwest Medical Center in Albany on Saturday, September 13, 2008 at the age of 83. He was preceded in death by his parents, Dewey and Jaunita (Murphy) Snead, sister, Ivadene Adducci, brothers, James E. Snead and wife Betty Lee and Joseph E. Snead, father and mother-in-law, Emmitt Russell and Mary Emily Wilson and brothers-in-law, C.F. Wilson, Johnny Dayle Wilson and Ronnie Payne. Kyle and Pat were married on June 16, 1951 in Harrison, Arkansas. In additions to his wife, he is survived by his sons, Davy Kyle Snead, Platte City; Danny Kay Snead and Sally, DeSoto, Kansas; two daughters, Cathy Ann Snead and David Teel, McFall; Susie Jo (Snead) McCampbell and David, Albany; Grandchildren, Chris and Shawna Kay (Snead) VanDraska, Kansas City; Jeremiah and P.J. (McCampbell) Wink, Albany Aaron Kyle Snead, Springfield; Trevor Daniel Snead, DeSoto, KS; Emily Ann McCampbell, St. Joseph, Zachery Taylor Snead, DeSoto, KS and Timothy of Springfield; two great-granddaughters, Sydney Snead, Springfield and Danielle (Dani) Lynn VanDraska, Kansas City; Nephews, Danny Adducci, Aurora, Colorado; James Burl Snead and Pricilla Snead, Albany; Niece, Sheri Edwards, Aurora, Colorado; brothers-in-law, Ross Wilson, Mt. Moriah; Jim, Bill and Gene Wilson, Albany; DeWayne Wilson, Gravitte, Arkansas; Sister-in-law, Betty Payne and many nieces and nephews. Kyle enjoyed watching softball and basketball games as well as going to track meets. He was regularly seen "visiting" (or sleeping under the tree) from one foul pole to the next or sitting at mid-court. He also enjoyed visiting at Gage's, Shoats and the Senior Center. Kyle was a WWII Veteran and a 50 year member of Post #5329 Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States; served 25 years on the ASCS Board, was the oldest elected official of Gentry County serving the Miller Township Board, a member of MFA Oil Board, Boy Scout Tropp 102, Honorary Warrior in the Tribe of Mic-O-Say, Honorary Chapter Farmer in the Albany FFA Chapter, and an active member of the Ancient Craft Lodge #377. He enjoyed music and companionship at the local country music operas. He was also always ready for a game of pitch. In the last few years, Kyle raised Registered Painted Mares and restored or rebuilt antique tractors for each of the kids and grandkids.
