Lettie Mae Siddens was born December 14, 1926. She passed away at Pioneer Skilled Nursing at 5 AM, Monday, December 20 th , 6 days past her 95 th birthday, which she shared with great-great grandson, Ryder Waltz.

Lettie spent her young years living on Mutton Ridge Ranch, one mile west of Jackson Corner, north of Milan, Missouri. She attended school at Jackson Corner School and went to the Church of God Seventh Day in Milan.

Her Great grandparents, James Knox and Hannah Clemons Rodgers, homesteaded 540 acres North of Bairdstown in 1870. A large number of the Rodgers family is buried in the Bairdstown cemetery.

She lived briefly in Florida, Oklahoma and back to Milan. Then as a teenager she lived in Bethany and then Stanberry where she finished high school.

She attended Northwest Missouri State Teachers College in Maryville, Missouri, where she took archery class along with teaching classes. The family still has her bow from the class. She taught school at Island City, Missouri. Then on July 14, 1946 she married Keith to become a farm wife living in "Honeymoon Cottage" (a converted garage) north of Albany.

They soon left the farm to go into Christian ministry. They went to Lincoln, Nebraska, then Maryville, Albany, Goldsberry, Sheldon, Higginsville, and Maryville, Missouri again.

She earned a Bachelor of Science in Education (1967) and a Master of Science at NWMSU in 1975.

She earned honors while teaching at Eugene Field Elementary school in Maryville, Mo. She taught school in Kingston, Mo., and was Elementary school Principal in 1984 at Mirabile C-1. After this she taught Kindergarten at St. Joseph Christian School in 1989.

Her writing career began in her youth for the church's national Sabbath School Missionary paper. Over the years she wrote for several different children's papers as well as other publications such as Reminisce Magazine and Grit. She wrote and published numerous books, including, 'He stood in the Gap', 'Mug Musings', and 'Sabbath at Sommerhase '.

She began her career as a mother in August 1948 when son, Bill was born. The child was such a case that she was too busy with him to worry about Carolyn who was born in March 1950 and Terry in September 1951. Thankfully the latter two were compliant children and did not cause any hardship.

Bill is married to Sharon (Cushing), Carolyn to Tim Johnston, and Terry to Beth (Stucker). She enjoyed this wonderful family unit even though they lived various directions and far away.

In 1969 she became a grandmother and eventually had a total of nine grandchildren:  Angella Taylor, Julie/Shane Gjesdal, Patrick/Jill Siddens, Christina/Tate Hickox, Austin Siddens, Randall/Adrienne Siddens, Janie/Matthew Hansen, Carolyn Ann/Sam Mooney, Anna Lewis. She had 24 great grandchildren and four great-great grandsons:  Radley, Ty and Kayden Gates and Ryder Waltz.

Lettie was preceded in death by; her husband, William Keith Siddens; parents, Edgar and Ruth Lippincott; sisters, Genevieve Lippincott and Faye/Mayne Harris; brother, Dee Lippincott; and two grandchildren, Janie Hansen and Randall Siddens.
