Lloyd J. Neal's Obituary
Lloyd J. Neal, 94, of Albany, MO and a former resident of Lee's Summit, MO, passed away on Wednesday, August 31, 2016, at Northwest Medical Center in Albany, MO.
Lloyd, the son of Lloyd E. Neal and Minnie (Walker) Austin, was born on November 27, 1921, in Hugginsville, MO. He was preceded in death by his wife of 66 years, Irys Neal, a brother, Cleo Neal, and a sister, Irene Groom.
Lloyd grew up in Stanberry, MO and later moved to Omaha, NE. He enlisted in the Air Force in 1942 and served until 1945. After leaving the service, he moved to Kansas City and later moved to Lee's Summit where he was a real estate broker for 30 years. Lloyd and Irys moved to Albany in 2003.
Lloyd was an avid golfer and a member of Albany Golf Club. He also enjoyed quail and pheasant hunting.
Lloyd is survived by three children: Sherry (Wayne) Sims of Lenexa, Kansas; Stephen (Debra) Neal of DeSoto, Kansas; and Karen (Richard) Mills of Boulder City, Nevada. He is also survived by seven grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews, and, of course, his beloved house dog, Buddy.
