Lois P. Deason, the daughter of Fred and Alta (Jones) Manion, was born February 8, 1910 north of Albany and passed away on April 10, 2016 at King City Manor at the age of 106.
Lois was united in marriage to Thomas Deason in March 19, 1931. He preceded her in death July 29, 1957.
She was also preceded in death by her parents and brother Jones Manion.
In 1962, Lois started cooking the weekly lunch for the Albany Rotary Club with Mr. & Mrs. Ervin Viles. When they retired, Lois was joined by her friend Uva Gregory. They also catered banquets, wedding and stag nights at the Country Club. She was a member of the Dorsey Christian Church. She organized and was a charter member of the Happy Hour Club which started meeting in her home.
Survivors: daughters, Shirley (Wayne) Steiner; Shirlene Kier both of St. Joseph; son, Sam (Jennifer) Deason, King City; grandchildren, Tommi (Steve) Herbster, King City; Steve Kier, Rea, MO; Terri (Tony) Singleton, Rosendale, MO; Jimmy (Zoann) Kier, Rea, MO; Connie (Gerald) Washburn, Sierra Madre, CA; Serena Steiner, Valley Village, CA; Mark (Lisa) Steiner, Weston, MO; Sherrie Deason; several great-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Shirlene Manion, Albany; several nieces and nephews.
