Obituary

Marion Janet "May" (Swan) Clemens Baker, 98 of Albany and a former resident of St. Joseph, passed away, Saturday, March 26, 2011 at a Cameron hospital. May, the daughter of William and Margaret (Gibson) Swan was born March 1, 1913 in Ladner British Columbia, Canada. She came to the United States at the age of 10 months. On February 18, 1975, May became a United States citizen. She was a 1930 graduate of the Darlington High School. May worked for Armour & Company in St. Joseph for 27 years. She retired in 1973. In 1983, she married Emmett Baker. He preceded her in death November 4, 1996. She was also preceded in death by her parents, brothers, John and James Swan and 2 grandchildren, Robert Clemens II and Lorelie Clemens. Marion was a member of the Hyde Valley Methodist Church in St. Joseph then transferred her membership to the Albany United Methodist Church. Survivors: Son, Robert Clemens Sr. and wife, Frances of Gallatin, MO; Step-Son, Bill Baker, Stanberry, MO; 5 Grandchildren; 10 Great-Grandchildren; 3 Great-Great-Grandchildren; 1 niece and 1 nephew.
